This is the first titanium bike I owned, but sadly I sold it last year. I bought it in Barcelona in 2006, and I was lucky enough to find the frame with the cool P2 titanium.
This particular frame, was built in 1993 as a weight weenie, and appeared in a spanish magazine. This is the set up 17 years ago, and a great weight of just 7.15kg!!!
The original owner cut the vertical tube to shave some grams... and this with the fact of using a seatpost with a different diameter, the frame had a tiny crack. It didn´t grow a mm for the 4 years I had it, but it´s a shame...
This is what I bought:
I wasn´t told about the crack, and didn´t noticed it untill began the build...
The first build up wasn´t very classic, I wanted a titanium rigid and light bike. I also liked the retro look, but still far from making a good build. Had some XTR m952 parts, and found some NOS purple cool bits, so...
The purple bits were gone for another project, and this one was going more red...
A full Pro shift transmission in red. So good looking and so bad shifting...
So finally went to some Paul-Dura ace thumbies, and this went better. Some of the next pics are in Zaragoza:
Finally sold it last year, because the Specialized Ultimate appeared, and I received an offer for this from a very nice french guy... hope you enjoy it Pierre!!!
